19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Success also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an better service.
He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional title, took control to force a decider.
The opponent saved four initial opportunities in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
